This is a lovely pair of vintage Japanese saltwater akoya cultured pearl screwback earrings by Maruwa Pearl Co.
The pearls are semi-baroque and measure 7.00mm. They have great luster with rosy overtones. They are set into a leafy design made to look like an eggplant.
They are stamped "STERLING" for sterling silver. Comes in the original hard plastic box. It is signed "MARUWA PEARL CO" "CULTURED PEARL" MADE IN JAPAN". From the 1950's-1960's.
All pearls are truly vintage and have only been lightly cleaned.
