This is a vintage bright blue Japanese saltwater akoya cultured pearl necklace.
The pearls are a medium blue/gray color and are mostly round. Some are very slightly baroque. They have light rosy overtones an good luster. Medium amount of natural blemishes. They measure an average of 6.50-7.00mm.
Clasp is simple modernist style yellow gold fishhook. It is stamped "585" for 14K gold. Total length is 17 inches. From mid-century.
All pearls are truly vintage and have only been lightly cleaned and restrung.
