This is a lovely vintage strand of baroque blue Japanese saltwater akoya cultured pearls.
The pearls are 7.00-7.50mm and baroque. They have a good luster with rosy pink overtones and range in color from blue to gray to silver. The coloration is somewhat uneven and they have a number of blemishes which is common for baroque pearls.
Clasp is in solid solid sterling and features hand engraving and milgrain edging with a small round pearl set in the center. It is stamped "SILVER" which is an older mark for sterling. Total length is 18.25 inches. From Japan 1940's-1960's.
All pearls are truly vintage and have only been lightly cleaned and restrung.
