This is a stunning pair of antique synthetic color change sapphire and Japanese akoya saltwater cultured pearl screwback earrings.
The pearls are 4mm and 1/2 cut. They have good luster with rosy pink overtones. Below hangs a teardrop of bright purple synthetic color change sapphire meant to mimic alexandrite. It changes from a bright purple color to a slight bluish gray color in certain lights.
They are made of solid yellow gold. Stamped "K14". From around 1910's-1940's Japan.
All pearls are truly vintage and have only been lightly cleaned.
