This is a stunning deco antique black onyx & Japanese akoya saltwater cultured pearl ring by Ostby Barton.
The pearl is 5.00mm round. It has great luster with rosy overtones. Nice quality. It is set into a black onyx stone that is slightly contoured to hold the pearl. Both the pearl and onyx are surrounded by delicate milgrain edging.
It is set in solid sterling silver with yellow gold plate on the shoulders. It is an industrial art deco style. It is stamped "STERLING" and "OB" for Ostby Barton. Ostby Barton was a well known designer during the art deco period who was famous for his period designs. He unfortunately lost his life on the Titanic. US size 5 3/4.
All pearls are truly vintage and have only been lightly cleaned. Some hairline scratches on onyx.
"These Mikimoto set are very beautiful and what I would consider simply understated elegance. Am so happy I found them."

"I simply love this akoya pearl necklace. The pearls are lustrous and smooth, so nice to wear. The necklace is very long, which I really like. I think that I got a great deal on it. It's exactly what I wanted."
