This is a lovely high quality Japanese akoya saltwater cultured pearl brooch or obidome (kimono belt accessory).

The pearls are graduated and measure from 6.75-7.50mm. They have mirror like luster with extremely bright rosy overtones. Very good quality.

It is made of solid sterling silver and has a unique design of interconnected silver bars with high polished and braided textures. It is stamped "SILVER" which is an older mark for sterling. It measures 2 1/2 inches long. From Japan 1950's-1960's.

All pearls are truly vintage and have only been lightly cleaned.
