This is a rare and authentic pair of Mikimoto Japanese akoya saltwater cultured pearl screwback earrings from Pearl Island.
The pearls are 5.50mm round. They have fantastic luster with bright rosy overtones.
They are set in solid sterling and stamped "SILVER" which is an older stamp for sterling silver. Total drop is 5/8 inch. Comes in the original box signed in Japanese "MIKIMOTO PEARL ISLAND". Pearl island is a museum in Toba Bay Japan where Mikimoto showcases their farms, pearl divers, library and jewelry.
All pearls are truly vintage and have only been lightly cleaned. Box has a few hairline cracks in the clear portion.
