This is an unusual and collectable saltwater akoya pearl pendant from Mikimoto Pearl Island.
The pearl is 5.50mm round and has mirror like luster with bright rosy pink overtones.
It is set in base metal with a silver plate and accented by two rhinestones. It was created as a tourist souvenir from Pearl Island in Toba Bay Japan where Mikimoto's pearl farm, museum and shop are located. Total pendant length is 3/4 inch, 16 inch chain. From 1950's-1970's. Comes with the original plastic box which is stamped "MIKIMOTO PEARL ISLAND".
All pearls are truly vintage and have only been lightly cleaned.
