This is a lovely mid-century modern Japanese akoya saltwater cultured pearl tie tac.

The pearl is 7.00mm round. It has fantastic luster with bright rosy overtones.

The setting and stem is made of solid sterling silver and is stamped "SILVER". It is accented with high polished and brushed texture. The back of the tie tac and button loop is base metal as is common. Japan 1950-1960's. Comes with the original velvet box. Box is in good condition, but has one small hole in the silk. 

All pearls are truly vintage and have only been lightly cleaned.
