This is a stunning mid-century Maruwa Japanese akoya saltwater cultured pearl tie bar or money clip.

The pearl is 5.50mm round. It has mirror like luster with bright rosy overtones. It is set on top of a solid black onyx stone.

The setting is made of solid silver. Stamped "SILVER" "950" which is slightly more pure than sterling. The metal is accented with engravings of exceptional quality. It is heavy and very well thought out design. It comes in the original silk and velvet box. The design is of Japanese cranes and is done in gold thread. 

All pearls are truly vintage and have only been lightly cleaned.
