This is a lovely mid-century modern Japanese akoya saltwater cultured pearl tie tac.

The pearl is 6.25mm round. It has fantastic luster with bright rosy overtones. Total width of the pin is 1/2 inch.

The setting and stem is made of solid sterling silver and is stamped "950" which is a little more pure than sterling. The back of the tie tac and button loop is base metal as is common. Japan 1950-1960's. Comes with the original silk pouch and paperwork.

All pearls are truly vintage and have only been lightly cleaned.
