This is an unusual pair of Japanese akoya saltwater cultured pearl screwback fan earrings.
The pearls are quite small and measure just 3.50mm round. They have soft luster with light rosy overtones and white color.
They are set in solid sterling silver with a black rhodium coating. This coating has cut though engravings that give it a very stunning contrast. There are also two 5.50mm black stone cabochons. Either glass or onyx. Stamped "SILVER" and "STERLING. Total length is 1 3/8 inches. Very light wear through coating in some areas due to age.
All pearls are truly vintage and have only been lightly cleaned.
