This is a stunning mid-century modern pearl brooch with blue/gray Japanese saltwater akoya cultured pearls.
The pearls are large and measure 7.50-8.50mm with a silver/blue body color. They have very good luster with rosy overtones.
It is made of solid sterling silver and has a swirling design. Stamped "STERLING" for solid sterling silver. It measures 1 3/4 inches long. It has two loops on the back to be worn as a obidome (or kimono belt ornament). From mid-century Japan.
All pearls are truly vintage and have only been lightly cleaned.
