This is a stunning vintage Japanese akoya saltwater cultured pearl peacock brooch & earring set by Furuya Pearl.
If features thirty three pearls on the brooch ranging from 5.00-5.75mm. The earrings feature fourteen pearls ranging from 3.25-5.00mm. All the pearls have fantastic luster and bright rosy pink overtones. They are set in a peacock design with hand engraving, stippling and milgrain details.
It is in solid sterling silver and is stamped "S" in a square for sterling.The brooch is very large and measures 2 3/4 inch and the earrings measure 1 1/2 inch. They have butterfly backs. Comes in the original box which is in good condition. It is stamped "CULTURED PEARL" "FURUYA PEARL TOKYO". From Japan 1950's-1960's.
All pearls are truly vintage and have only been lightly cleaned.
