This is a stunning modernist era Japanese akoya saltwater cultured pearl brooch.

The pearls measure 7.75mm round. They have fantastic luster and bright rosy pink overtones. The front of the pearls are very round but they have a slight baroque shape when viewed from behind.

It is made of solid sterling silver and has delicate ribbon design. It is stamped "SILVER", and older mark for sterling. It measures 2 1/2 inches long. From Japan 1950-1960's.

All pearls are truly vintage and have only been lightly cleaned.
