This is a retro mid-century modern Japanese akoya saltwater cultured pearl tie tac.
The pearl is 5.75mm round. It has very good luster with rosy pink overtones. It is surrounded by a high polished design.
The entire piece is gold filled/plated and not precious metal. From mid-century Japan.
All pearls are truly vintage and have only been lightly cleaned.
