This is a lovely pair of grape Japanese akoya saltwater cultured pearl screwback earrings by Caribe.
The pearls have great luster and rosy pink overtones. They are between 4.50-6.25mm. They are surrounded by hand engraved leaves and vines.
It is set in solid sterling silver. Stamped "SILVER" "950" "CARIBE" which is an older mark for sterling. Roughly from 1950's-1960's Japan. Lovely milgrain down the middle of the leaves. Total length is 1 inch. One of the screwbacks has been replaced, not noticed when on.
All pearls are truly vintage and have only been lightly cleaned.
