This is a lovely pair of baroque grape Japanese akoya saltwater cultured pearl screwback earrings.
The pearls have great luster and rosy pink overtones. They are a very baroque or drop shape. They measure 6.25mm across. They are surrounded by hand engraved leaves and vines. The pearls and leaves are independent and swing with movement.
It is set in solid sterling silver. Stamped "A SILVER" which is an older mark for sterling. Lovely milgrain around the edges of the leaves. Total length is 1 1/8 inch. Roughly from 1950's-1960's Japan.
All pearls are truly vintage and have only been lightly cleaned.
