This is a unique large baroque Japanese rainbow blue akoya saltwater cultured pearl tie tac.

The pearl is large and measures 12mm. It is a medium blue/gray color. It has great luster with rainbow overtones ranging from pink to blue to green.

The setting and stem is made of solid yellow gold but is not stamped. The back of the tie tac and button bar is base metal as is common. From Japan 1950-1980's.

All pearls are truly vintage and have only been lightly cleaned.
