This is a unique handmade pair of mid-century baroque blue Japanese akoya saltwater cultured pearl cufflinks.
The pearls are lustrous and very off round they measure 6.00-6.75mm. They are a medium blue/gray color with rosy pink overtones and a wrinkled surface texture. Some have flat tops, most are a drop shape. It is an abstract design.
They are set into a simple handmade bar design. They are stamped "STERLING" for solid sterling silver. They measure 21mmx21mm total. From Japan 1940's-1960's.
All pearls are truly vintage and have only been lightly cleaned.
