This is a lovely antique detailed Japanese akoya saltwater white & yellow cultured pearl grape cluster brooch.
The pearls are 3.75-4.25mm round. They have good luster with pink overtones and colors ranging from white to light yellow to golden. Baroque to round shape.
It is made of solid sterling silver. It has highly detailed engraved leaves with milgrain accents and a wonderful basket and twisted handle. It measures 1 1/4 inch long. Japan 1930's-1940's. Stamped "STERLING" "SILVER".
All pearls are truly vintage and have only been lightly cleaned.
