This is a stunning mid-century Japanese akoya saltwater cultured pearl tie bar or money clip.
The pearl is 5.25mm round. It has mirror like luster with bright rosy overtones. It is set on top of engraved silver. Next to it is the Chinese of Japanese character for "long life" on top of a mother of pearl disk.
The setting is made of solid silver. Stamped "STERLING". The metal is accented with engravings of exceptional quality. It is heavy and very well thought out design. Total length is 2 1/4 inch.
All pearls are truly vintage and have only been lightly cleaned.
