This is a lovely mid-century modern Japanese akoya saltwater cultured pearl Butterfly tie tac.

The pearl is 7.75mm round. It is a white color color. It has fantastic luster with light rosy overtones.

The setting and stem is made of solid sterling silver and is stamped "SILVER". The back of the tie tac and button bar is base metal as is common. Japan 1950-1980's.

All pearls are truly vintage and have only been lightly cleaned.
