This is a stunning pair of Japanese akoya saltwater cultured pearl screwback crescent moon earrings.
The pearls are in a free moving cadge and they measure 3.75mm round. They have great luster with rosy overtones and white color.
They are surrounded by a black crescent moon design with detailed engraving. Stamped "STERLING" and "AMITA JAPAN" for the style or region of design. They also have a 7.00mm black glass or onyx cabochon at the top. The earrings are large and measure 1 3/4 inch long. From Japan 1950's-1960's.
All pearls are truly vintage and have only been lightly cleaned.
