This is an authentic mid-century Mikimoto Japanese akoya saltwater cultured pearl tie bar.

The pearl is 5.75mm round. It has great luster with bright rosy overtones.

It is made of solid sterling. Stamped "M" in a clamshell for Mikimoto and "SILVER" which older Japanese mark for sterling silver. Total length is 1 1/2 Inch. From mid-century Japan.

All pearls are truly vintage and have only been lightly cleaned. It does have scratching and tarnish, and needs a professional polish if desired.
