This is a unique baroque Japanese saltwater akoya cultured pearl and engraved sterling silver butterfly brooch.
The pearls are lustrous and measure 2.00-4.50mm. They have rosy pink overtones and are white in color, nice quality. The pearls that make up the "body" are a very baroque double pearl.
It is made of solid sterling silver and has milgrain and hand engraved details. It is not stamped but tested for sterling silver. It measures 1 3/4 inches long. From Japan, 1930's-1960's.
All pearls are truly vintage and have only been lightly cleaned.
