This is a lovely pair of designer Japanese akoya saltwater cultured pearl screwback earrings by Mayuyama.
The pearls are lustrous with rosy pink overtones. They measure 6.00-6.50mm. They are set into a double cherry style setting.
They are not stamped but solid sterling silver. Total drop is 1 inch. Comes in the original wood, velvet and silk case. It is signed "CULTURED PEARL" "MAYUYAMA" "IMPERIAL HOTEL TOKYO JAPAN". Box is in good condition but has some minor scuffs on the outside. From Japan 1930's-1950's.
All pearls are truly vintage and have only been lightly cleaned.
