This is a lovely vintage strand of Japanese saltwater akoya cultured pearls. 

The pearls measure 6.25-6.75mm and round. They have good luster with light rosy overtones. Not the highest quality but still nice, makes a good starter or everyday strand. Light amount of natural blemishes. They are a white/cream color.

Clasp is in solid solid sterling and features hand engraving with a single pearl in the center. It is stamped "STERLING". Total length is 15 inches, it is a choker. From Japan 1940's-1960's. Comes with a tag that states "SAMOURAI" "CULTURED PEARLS" "GROWN BY THE LIVING OYSTER".

All pearls are truly vintage and have only been lightly cleaned and restrung.
