This is a stunning strand of vintage Art Deco Japanese saltwater akoya cultured pearls by Ostby Barton.

The pearls are 5.25-8.25mm and round. They have fantastic luster with bright rosy overtones and very few blemishes. They are a white/cream color.

Clasp is in solid white gold is stamped "750" and "OB" for Ostby Barton. It is a deco starburst design that is accented with a single white pearl. Ostby Barton was a well known designer around the turn of the century known for his classic deco designs. He unfortunately passed away on the Titanic and his works are now highly collectable. I have never seen a pearl necklace by him, but I am not familiar with any other designers who use this stamp. Total length is 17.00 inches. 

All pearls are truly vintage and have only been lightly cleaned and restrung.
