This is a lovely mid-century modern Japanese akoya saltwater cultured pearl tie tac.

The pearl is 7.50mm round. It has fantastic luster with bright rosy overtones.

The setting and stem is made of solid silver and is stamped "SILVER" "850" for slightly less pure than sterling. The back of the tie tac and button bar is base metal as is common. Japan 1950-1960's.

All pearls are truly vintage and have only been lightly cleaned.
