This is a unique pair of mid-century modern baroque blue Japanese akoya saltwater cultured pearl cufflinks.

The pearls are lustrous and large, they measure 8.50mm. They are a medium blue/gray color with rosy pink overtones and a wrinkled surface texture.

They are set into a simple but elegant modernist design. They are stamped "STERLING" "900" which is a little less pure than traditional sterling. They measure 13mmx17mm. From Japan 1940's-1960's.

All pearls are truly vintage and have only been lightly cleaned.
